The Utah Chiefs of Police Association (UCOPA) works to promote the professional law enforcement services within the state of Utah through unity and leadership. As part of the commitment, UCOPA is engaged in a two-year national recruitment campaign focused on the next generation of police officers, deputy sheriffs, highway patrol, state troopers, wildlife resource officers, corrections officers and beyond and showcasing everything that Utah has to offer individuals and families, as career seeking individuals have many options in this job market.
As part of that commitment, the state has granted UCOPA funds to help support Find Yourself in Utah, a statewide recruitment and retention initiative to increase communication, online job postings, video production and more.
On April 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Utah Chiefs, along with Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) will be hosting the first Find Yourself in Utah Law Enforcement Career Day, which is designed to showcase all aspects of both sworn and civilian opportunities within law enforcement. The event will take place at POST Conference Center in Sandy.
This event will feature facetime with leaders across all aspects of policing and law enforcement from statewide agencies to small rural agencies. There will be a hands-on display from local departments, including K9s, Drones, Motorcycles, Helicopters, and more! In addition, there will be representatives from the Attorney General’s Office, Utah Women in Law Enforcement, ULEAP (Law Enforcement Administrative Professionals), Mental Health Clinicians, along with many other critical non-sworn opportunities that support our public safety professionals.
Local criminal justice programs at both the high school and college levels are encouraged to attend this event, which will give your students the opportunity to learn more about the wide range of careers in law enforcement.
Our goal is to showcase the opportunities in law enforcement in Utah for both civilian and sworn professionals — including uniformed officers, crime analysts, psychologists, social workers, and much more.
